Cautions, Remediation and Undertakings
Section 23(1) of the Health Professions Procedural Code, being Schedule 2 to the Regulated Health Professions Act, 1991 requires that certain information relating to the outcome of a complaint or a report investigation against a Member of the College be posted in the public register. The College is in the process of updating its public register. It is intended that all additional information available will be accessible on Optician Search, the College's public register of its members.
In the meantime, information concerning cautions, remediation and undertakings relating to Members of the College is listed below.
Cautions and Remediation
Where a decision of the Inquiries, Complaints and Reports Committee (ICRC) made on or after January 1, 2017 includes a requirement that the Member attend before a panel of the ICRC to be cautioned or complete a specified continuing education and remediation program (SCERP), the College posts to this website a notation of that fact, a summary of the caution, the date of the Panel's decision and, where applicable, a notation of any pending review or appeal.
Where a decision of the ICRC made on or after January 1, 2017 includes or is contingent upon an undertaking to perform certain obligations given by the Member, the College posts to this website a notation of that fact, a summary of that decision, the date of the Panel's decision and, where applicable, a notation that the requirements of the undertaking have been fulfilled or completed by the Member and a notation of any pending review or appeal.
