College of Opticians of Ontario
The College recently instituted a Group Email Program to communicate with its members about important matters relevant to the practice of opticianry. To facilitate the effectiveness of the Program, members are now required to provide a current email address to the College. The College may also from time to time communicate with other stakeholders about matters relevant to the College’s mandate. If you received a group electronic mailing from us, our records indicate that (a) you are a current and active member of the College or (b) you otherwise have an existing relationship with us. We respect your time and attention by controlling the frequency of our mailings.
When we send you emails, we may include a web beacon to allow us to determine the number of people who open our emails. Web beacons collect only limited information, such as link click-throughs, time and date of a page being viewed, and a description of the page on which the Web Beacon resides (the URL).
Web Beacons can be refused when delivered via email. If you do not wish to receive Web Beacons via email, you will need to disable HTML images or refuse HTML (select Text only) emails via your email software.
The College does not collect personal information via its website. Our website hosting service provider records a visitor’s IP address, as well as the pages that a visitor accesses, how often and for how long.
