ELECTION RESULTS 2011

The College of Opticians held elections for three (3) districts on Thursday, November 24, 2011.  The three districts up for election were District 1 (SOUTHERN ONTARIO), District 5 (TORONTO), and District 8 (CENTRAL ONTARIO).  The results are as follows:

Elections Results for District #1 (southern Ontario)

The deadline for receipt of nominations was September 20, 2011. Two nominations were received by the College: Mr. Junaide (Jay) Hakim, C-1856 and Mr. Edward Viveiros, C-1423.

The election took place on November 24, 2011 and Mr. Junaide (Jay) Hakim was declared the winner. Mr. Hakim will serve as representative of District 1 for the three-year term January 1, 2012 – December 31, 2014.

Election Results for District #5 (Toronto Ontario)

The deadline for receipt of nominations was September 20, 2011. Three Nominations were received by the College: Mr. Ali Baddredine, C-1469, Mr. Muhammad Anwar Hussain, C-4050 and Mr. Shahram (Chris) Namvarazad, C-3128.

The election took place on November 24, 2011 and Mr. Shahram (Chris) Namvarazad was declared the winner. Mr. Namvarazad will serve as representative of District 5 for the three-year term January 1, 2012 – December 31, 2014.

District 5(Toronto Ontario)

Elections Results for District #8 (Central Ontario)

The deadline for receipt of nominations was September 20, 2011. Two nominations were received by the College: Mr. Ahmed Abdolrazzak, C-3362 and Ms. Sheela Moloo, C-1574.

The election took place on November 24, 2011 and Ms. Sheela Moloo was declared the winner. Ms. Moloo will serve as representative of District 8 for the three-year term January 1, 2012 – December 31, 2014.
