Quality Assurance Program Overview
The Regulated Health Professions Act, 1991 (RHPA) requires each Health Regulatory College to develop and administer a Quality Assurance Program to assure the quality of the practice of the profession and to promote continuing competence among the members.
The mandate of the Quality Assurance Committee is:
- To administer and monitor the Quality Assurance Program prescribed in regulations
- To evaluate Continuing Education activities for credit assignment
- The Committee also administers the Peer Assessment Component of the Quality Assurance Program
In accordance with the
Quality Assurance Regulation set out under the Opticianry Act, 1991, every Optician shall participate in the Quality Assurance Program and fulfill its requirements. The College of Opticians administers its Quality Assurance Program on a three-year cycle, individual to each member. Please refer to our Credit Cycles page for further details.
