Applications are mailed by July 1 of each year to the member’s last known address.

Renewal as a Student Optician is from September 1 to September 1 of each year.

Fees

  • Payment by cheque, money order, certified cheque, Visa or MasterCard in the amount of $128.82 (which includes HST). Any cheques returned by the bank or credit card transactions which cannot be processed or are declined will incur a $45.20 administration charge, and may be considered as late.

  • Renewal must be received on or before September 1 or a late renewal fee of $56.50 will be charged.

  • Payment is processed after September 1st deadline; however, this still does not imply that your application has been approved. If you are a student optician, once the College of Opticians receives official confirmation of your enrolment in Georgian or Seneca Colleges, your application for renewal will be processed. We expect confirmation from Georgian or Seneca Colleges by mid-October regarding your current status. Once school confirmation is received and all renewals have been processed, students can expect to receive their renewal package in the mail around end of October.
