The College is currently seeking appointed non-council
optician members for 2012.

Running for elected office on the College’s Council is not the only way Ontario’s opticians can actively participate in College activities. Another way is to serve as an appointed non-council optician member on one or more of the College’s Committees, task forces and working groups.

Opticians play a vital role in the delivery of optimal vision care in Ontario. The College of Opticians of Ontario (COO) is dedicated to serving and protecting the public interest through effective planning, guidance and regulation of the practice of Opticianry.

This is how you can become involved in College Committees as an appointed non-council optician member:

  • Submit a covering letter and your Resume to bforrest@coptont.org by Monday, October 17, 2011.
  • A telephone interview will be scheduled with the College's Executive Committee.
  • Following assessment of all applicants, the Executive Committee will make recommendations to the College Council regarding appointments to the above Committees. The College Council will appoint the candidates to the various Committees and establish the Committee slates at the first scheduled meeting in January of 2012. Members are appointed for a two year term beginning on January 1, 2012 and ending December 31, 2013.

To be eligible for consideration, you must be currently registered in good standing with the College of Opticians of Ontario.

Please contact Belinda Forrest (bforrest@coptont.org) for more information.
