Council recently approved a policy and explanatory document to guide members in responding to requests by patients to access their personal health information, such as a copy of the patient’s prescription or measurements. These materials set out what is and is not acceptable in the face of such requests and aims to assist members in better understanding their responsibilities under the College’s Standards of Practise and the Personal Health Information Protection Act. Members are encouraged to make themselves familiar with these materials and to contact the College with any questions.
